Join us for an immersive watercolor workshop where we will explore the magical interplay of flora and water. In this class, we will work from a beautiful flower reference image, but with a twist—we will learn how to add realistic, glistening raindrops to bring the composition to life. ​What You Will Learn: ​The Art of Rain: specifically how to paint translucent raindrops that sit naturally on petals. ​Wet-on-Wet Technique: How to achieve smooth, interesting, and dreamy backgrounds. ​Layering & Lifting: We will use layering to add texture and volume, and the lifting technique to reclaim highlights and create dimension. ​Precision Tools: We will utilize masking liquid to reserve our brightest whites and achieve precise, professional results. ​The Atmosphere: Come have fun with like-minded individuals in a supportive and friendly atmosphere! Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced artist, this workshop offers the flexibility to suit your level. You will be gently guided to achieve great results, but encouraged to trust your own artistic flow and take individualistic approaches to your painting. ​Materials Provided: - ​High-quality watercolor paper - ​Drawing pads - ​Cups and napkins - ​Spare brushes are available if you forget yours! ​Please Bring: ​ - Round brushes (thin and medium sizes) ​ - A big flat brush ​ - Your favorite watercolor paints About the Artist: My name is Zlatka Angelova, I started my artistic journey in 2019 after moving from Bulgaria to the United States. I fell in love with both oil and watercolor and I have been painting ever since. What I love most about watercolors is the freedom of expression and the sense of unpredictability that comes with techniques like wet-on-wet. It's a medium that encourages you to let go and embrace the unexpected. My hope for this workshop is to share that feeling with you. I believe that watercolors can be incredibly interesting and expressive. I want to empower you, increase your confidence, and create an inspiring group experience where you feel a sense of connection and belonging.
